For Agencies and Organizations:

Organizations (nonprofits, faith-based, government agencies or civic organizations) are invited to join us (for free) on Tioga County Volunteers. By posting your volunteer opportunities, needs, and events you can promote your organization AND connect with both existing and new volunteers.

This portal will help you get the word out and boost your visibility within the community. It also provides features and functions to simplify the process of managing and scheduling volunteers as well as keeping a history and tracking hours. Agencies are responsible for uploading and updating content and responding to interested volunteers BUT we do provide FREE technical assistance.

Please submit your agency for inclusion. Please note that you must have a volunteer account before you can submit your agency.

To maximize your benefit from using this site, you will want to read the helpful hints and encourage your volunteers to sign up for volunteering needs through the site.  This is a tool for you to maximize the benefit of your volunteers -- but it is not a silver bullet. You still need to promote this site to your volunteers and make regular use of it to benefit from it. While it is likely to increasingly (we just went live Sept 1, 2024) be an opportunity to connect with new volunteers, we strongly believe that the REAL POWER this site has is in helping you leverage your existing volunteers with less effort on your part (i.e., no 'beating the bushes' to fill needs -- experience to date has been that needs fill up farther in advance and require less effort to fill).

When promoting, link directly to your needs and events on the portal. For more on this, see the helpful hints and read how to create helpful links.

You will also benefit if you start thinking about different ways to use volunteers. The national trend is for more 'virtual' (i.e., at home) volunteering opportunities. People have diverse talents and may be able to do any number of tasks for you including Graphic Design, document writing (press releases, web pages, process manuals ...), research, social media management, even things like public presence/outreach (i.e., go to other meetings or events to informally represent your agency). Are you currently leaning into your talented volunteers to do these types of things for you?
